<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"> <div class="post-content-single"> <span class="wpsr_floatbts_anchor"></span>Grand Reception was organised for megafans on 15 june evening at hyderabad after Ram Charan and Upasana got married on thursday.<br /> About 6000 megafans attended this event, which charan termed as reception for <em>‘mana family’</em>, as he treated fans too as part of his family.<br /> <div class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 630px;"> <img align="middle" alt="Ram Charan and Upasana, at their wedding reception for fans" height="412" src="http://www.chiranjeeviblog.com/albums/Galleries/Special/Ramcharan_Upasana_Wedding_Reception/41.jpg" width="620" /><div class="wp-caption-text"> Ram Charan and Upasana with Chiranjeevi, at their wedding reception for fans</div> </div> The scene at Charan and Upasna’s ‘<em>fan reception</em>‘ on Friday was quite a sight.<br /> Around 6,000 people, all of whom are members of fans associations, gathered at the venue to catch a glimpse of their newly-married star.<br /> Fan associations across the state were all sent invites by Charan.<br /> The arrangements were impressive — apart from an orchestra that played hit numbers from the films of Charan, his Megastar dad, uncle Pawan Kalyan and cousin Allu Arjun, there were skits and mimicry acts too.<br /> A lavish lunch buffet was hosted for the fans, who were only too happy to wait, despite the fact that the newly weds were late by over three hours to their own party!<br /> The fans started grumbling when they learnt that Pawan Kalyan won’t be attending the event as he is busy with his shooting, but everything was forgotten once Charan and Upasna made a grand entry.<br /> A whole lot of hooting and cheering filled the air as Charan introduced his new bride to his filmi family and thanked them for being part of his wedding joy.<br /> On this eve, charan said that now he can freely romance with heroines in front of camera.<br /> “<em>Upsi felt uneasy by seeing me romancing girls on screen. So, i took her to Racha song shoot to make her understand that, we do such shots in front of around 100 people working around us.<br /> Then she realised our work and now i can romance any heroine in movies, without any problem from my wife.</em>“</div> </div>

Contrary to the current trend, flowers are not being flown in from Bangkok or Amsterdam, expensive cutlery is not being imported from Europe nor are chandeliers being bought from China. The wedding will be a stark contrast from the typical, ostentatious affairs in Hyderabad. Instead, the couple has employed artisans from the State and other parts of the country, to put together everything from the sets and the mandap to the decorations, with the aim of generating employment for them.<br /> <strong>SOCIALLY-CONSCIOUS SHAADI</strong><br />The bride-to-be, Upasna, who is overlooking the wedding details, tells us, “We wanted to give the wedding a personal touch, so we came up with the idea of a marriage with an emphasis on various social causes. Post the wedding, we will travel to Tirumala to seek the blessing of Lord Venkateshwara, after which we’ll travel to Aragonda, the ancestral village of my grandfather, Dr Prathap C Reddy, where we plan to inaugurate a drinking water plant. We are also gifting 300 saris to the residents of Domakonda after I perform my religious rituals at the temple.”<br /> Event stylist Dinaz Noria who’s doing the decor for the couple’s wedding ceremonies, reveals, “<em>Both Charan and Upasna were keen on generating employment through their wedding rather than just opting for those lavish sets. They would pick designs that would involve the most number of artisans.</em>”<br />Speaking about the work underway at the Kamineni farm, Temple Tree, Dinaz says, “<em>An unusual art form of suspending hand-blown glass from ceilings was showcased by a team from National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad here. This art form is being used in the wedding. A Nandi is being put together with lotus-shaped hand-blown glass balls made by artisans from Moradabad and Firozabad.</em>” The mandi at the wedding is crafted with beads that are hand-woven in Firozabad.<br />“<em>The block-printing artisans are working on the table linen and chairs and people from Marathwada in Maharashtra are doing the flower-weaving. Florists from various parts of the country like Coimbatore are roped in. The decor will be mostly handmade. Apart from the florists, flower weavers and the hand-blown glass artisans, everything else is being done locally in AP— from the structures to the air-conditioning.</em>”<br /> <strong>MAKING A DIFFERENCE</strong><br />The couple will seek the Lord’s blessings in Tirupati after the wedding on Saturday morning.<br />The same evening, the couple will head to Aragonda, a village near Chittor town, which is the hometown of Upasna’s grandfather, Dr Prathap C Reddy, to fulfil his dream of donating a water treatment plant for the villagers.<br />Charan and Upasna identified certain orphanages in Hyderabad and Secunderabad and they have already started making trips to them.<br />Ram Charan will be hosting a grand reception for his fans on Friday evening. Wedding with a heart<br /> <strong>SHIVA-PARVATHI THEME:</strong><br />Talking about the wedding’s traditional theme, Dinaz says, “Upasna is a big Shiv bhakt and the wedding will have a Shiva-Parvathi theme. Inspiration for the mandap is drawn from the same and will be designed by Tollywood art director, Anand Sai. He has also made a Shiva mandir near the mandap where all the prewedding pujas will be done. Work is already on in fullswing at the sprawling eightacre farm near the Himayathsagar lake for the celebrations. “<em>The wedding will have a walkway courtyard., the main mandap area and the food section will together be spread over 70,000 sq. ft. The whole look will be extremely traditional,</em>” she adds.<br /> <strong>GIFTS FOR CHARITY:</strong><br />As part of their philanthropic efforts, the duo has requested guests to donate the wedding gifts to charity. “<em>Charan and Upasna have asked guests not to bring gifts. And for those who still wanted to give them a wedding gift, they have made a plea to donate the gifts to Upasna’s charity foundation, Save A Child’s Heart Initiative (SACHi),</em>” says Dinaz.</div> </div>

Sources add that since the list of invitees includes prominent international guests too, efforts are on to keep this affair as elegant as they can. The list includes film stars, political bigwigs and business tycoons. There’s speculation that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi too will be attending this wedding, apart from the Bachchans.<br /> The Apollo family, is looking at pictures of the British Royal Wedding for ideas. “<em>The centrally air-conditioned venue will be done up mostly in white, adorned with crystal decor imported from UK and chandeliers from China. While the mandap will be done up in traditional style, the food courts will have the Balinese look</em>,” reveals a source.<br /> Art director Anand Sai, a close associate of Chiranjeevi, is designing the wedding venue at Upasana’s farmhouse and also the venue for the reception that Chiru is hosting on the night of the wedding day.<br /> And this time around, the security for the wedding and other ceremonies is going to be foolproof and outsiders will not even be able to get a glimpse of the goings on inside. “<em>Both families are taking utmost care when inviting guests. There were a few security lapses at the time of the engagement.
