Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, who is undertaking whirlwind tours across the state to publicise government schemes, has been asked by the Congress high command to give it a break and go to Karnataka.
Kiran Reddy has been told to use his clout, along with the charisma of Union minister Chiranjeevi, for the victory of Congress candidates in the Karnataka Assembly polls. According to sources, the Congress leadership wants to utilise the services of it chief ministers for election campaign in Karnataka.
As per this plan, Kiran Reddy and chief ministers of Maharashtra and Kerala have been reportedly asked by the AICC top brass to campaign in areas in Karnataka where Telugu, Marathi and Malayalam speaking people live in large numbers. According to Rajya Sabha member and AICC point man for Karnataka, V Hanumantha Rao, Kiran Reddy might undertake canvassing in areas which share border with Andhra Pradesh in the first week of May.
Similarly, Chiranjeevi is also expected to undertake poll campaign in Karnataka on April 28 and 29. Chief ministers of Maharashtra and Kerala are likely to campaign on April 29.
Congress is expected to win these elections comfortably.
