The Anti-Video Piracy Cell of Andhra Pradesh swung into action nabbing a culprit in Nellore within two hours of him uploading the title track of Ram Charan Tej’s Rachcha before the official audio release.
“He has confessed to the crime and promised to expose the insider who helped him to leak it,” reveals Rajkumar, chairman, AVPC.
He warned that people who still believe that they can get away by uploading or downloading pirated versions at home, should think again. “We could identify and nab the pirate in just a few hours thanks to our strong network. We have also alerted 40 ISPs to check such malpractices,” he adds.
Going a step further in its mission to eradicate piracy, the cell conducted string operations and identified some theatres in the city that are helping pirates. “We have already caught five big theatres red-handed through our sting operations,” informs Rajkumar.
This proactive approach has reduced the piracy of recent big films like Businessman, Bodyguard and Rajanna.
